Junior League Legacy Gallery

Background

 

The current Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center

exhibits were created for the facility by a

local small scale exhibit contractor with

assistance from local volunteers, carpenters

and artists. The main theme of the exhibit

gallery is: The Loess Hills are fragile and

contain a diverse community of plants and animals, provide an important aesthetic and economic resource and are worthy of protecting.

 

The Exhibit Gallery incorporates the following overall objectives:

 

• Exhibits shall appeal to a variety of age groups by providing developmentally appropriate activities for people of all ages.

 

• The exhibit gallery shall give people a sense of welcome.  It will be comfortable and inviting for people to stay and explore.  Exhibits shall range from quiet reflection to active involvement.

 

• The exhibits shall incorporate a variety of learning styles for all types of learners.

 

• There shall be continuity among the quality of professional exhibits.

 

• The exhibits shall allow the visitor to reach a better understanding and appreciation of the Loess Hills.

 

• Exhibits shall compliment the architecture of the main exhibit gallery and maintain the integrity of the building style.
