2010 Day Camp Schedule

Choose from 3-day or 5-day camps for ages five and up!

Caterpillars:

Ages 3-5 accompanied by an adult

Cost is $25 for 1st child & $20 for 2nd

Sessions are 10:00 a.m. to Noon

Session are limited to 12 child and adult teams.

Nature Detectives:

                            June 9-10 or July 26-27

Campers and their adult will explore the natural world together as we look for animals, signs and clues all around us. We’ll use binoculars, magnifying lens and other discovery tools during our explorations. Be ready to hit the trails, make crafts and discover lots!

 

Bumblebees: Age 4

Cost is $30

Sessions are 9:00 a.m. to Noon                    Children must be toilet trained.

Each session is limited to 14 children.       Children attend by themselves.

 

Color My World:

June 29 - July 1 (FULL)           or July 13-15

Nature is full of vibrant colors everywhere! We’ll search the trails to discover different colors along with the animals and plants that represent them. Just a few we may find are red cardinals, green tiger beetles and purple coneflowers.

 

Grasshoppers: Ages 5-6

All Sessions are 9:00 a.m. to Noon

Each session is limited to 18 children.

Children attend by themselves.

 

Five-Day Camp         Cost: $55

 

Insectigations:

(June 21-25) or July 19-23

              (FULL)

Campers will spend their time investigating insects and their creepy crawly relatives. We’ll uncover all we can about how these creatures move, where they live, what they eat and so much more!

Three-Day Camps    Cost: $35

 

Fancy Fliers:  (FULL)

June 29-July 1 or July 28-30

Swoop, glide and soar with us during these camps of winged discovery. Campers will learn about animals like darting dragonflies, hovering hummingbirds and other fancy fliers.

 

Dino-Mite:

        (July 7-9) or August 10-12

Come be a junior paleontologist as we discover the world of dinosaurs. Campers will enjoy dino-mite games, activities, crafts and more. We’ll even dig for some ancient fossils this week. 

 

Bluebirds: Ages 7-8

All Sessions are 9:00 a.m. to Noon

Each session is limited to 18 children.

Children attend by themselves.

Five-Day Camps         Cost: $55

 

Feathers, Fur & Scales:

          June 21-25 or July 19-23

Campers will learn the basic animal groups: insects, fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals. There will be plenty of games, crafts, habitat exploring and even a day of fishing fun.

Three-Day Camps   Cost: $35

 

Animal Olympics:  
3-Open in each session

July 7-9 or August 10-12

Who would win the gold? Animals perform speed, strength, and power every day for survival. Campers will discover which animals are the fastest, strongest, and more.

 

Nature Artists:

July 28-30 (FULL)

Learn about the wonders of nature through art. We’ll sharpen our observation skills while creating amazing artwork. Campers will use nature’s inspiration to create masterpieces and memories!

Meadowlarks: Ages 9-10

All Sessions are 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Each session is limited to 20 children.

Children must bring a sack lunch with drink.

 

Five-Day Camp          Cost: $75

 

Habitat Hunt:

July 12-16 (FULL)

Whether it’s the tall grass prairie, an old Burr Oak tree or a pond, every animal needs a place to call home. Campers will investigate our local habitats to discover animal needs, survival tactics and much more.

 

 

Three-Day Camps   Cost: $45

 

Rare Scare:

June 9-11 or August 4-6 (FULL)

Bobcats, rattlesnakes, and falcons are just a few of the animals campers will discover. We’ll learn why these animals are endangered species, what that means and why they are important. 

Badgers: Ages 11-12

Each session is limited to 20 children.

Campers must bring a sack lunch with drink.

 

Five-Day Camp          Cost: $85

 

(FULL)     Trail Blazers:

June 14-18 - 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Grab your backpack, put on your hiking shoes and be prepared for some outdoor adventures. We’ll spend the week exploring and practicing our outdoor skills. We’ll even spend one day at Snyder Bend Park, near Salix, for campers to experience canoeing.

Three-Day Camp       Cost: $45

 

Survivors!:
3-Open

August 4-6 - 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

How would you survive in the wild?  Campers will discover how local wildlife use survival tactics everyday. Plus we’ll learn a few outdoor safety and survival techniques ourselves.
